When we moved to a new house, it was already wired for a home security system. PP&L had a referral program and they referred me to what I thought was ADT, but it was Safe Streets. My interactions with their reps were fine. But, the installer left the old box along with the old battery down in the basement and I’m trying to figure out how to get rid of that. Other than that, he did fine. The service has been good so far.

I live alone and based on word of mouth, I decided to go with Safe Streets for my security system. The cost is reasonable and everybody that I’ve dealt with has been remarkable. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. The salesperson was really good too. I asked for the minimum but he showed me more options so I upgraded. I ended up with more than I had asked for. I also had a great experience with the customer service representative. He was easy to follow and it was easy to get the thing done. Then for the installation, the man was on time. He showed me all my different options then once I selected what I wanted, the system was up and running in no time. It’s very easy to use and in terms of performance, it’s a 10 out of 10. It’s great and I like it. I feel secure and I would definitely recommend it.

Power went out while my daughter was preparing our traditional shrimp and grits. Soon after, we hastily left to grandparents’ home for early dinner. Before the meal was over, we got a call from ADT. My daughter forgot to turn off the burner under the shrimp. We arrived to a yard full of firemen. Lots of smoke, but praise God, no fire. ADT contacted me and notified fire dept asap.

Some statistics

Property crime, no matter where you reside, is an alarming statistic that needs attention. While evidence points to rural areas as safer than urban areas when it comes to property crime and burglary, the numbers do not fall too far behind. The National Center for Victims of Crime reports that for 2014, property crime rates in urban areas were 148.8 vs 103.2 per nearly 15 million total crimes. The difference, then, of living in a rural area does not seem too much different from urban areas. Additionally, living far away from civilization means police or paramedic assistance can take two to three times longer than in the city. These reasons mean that rural dwellers need to be especially mindful of their property.

Location-based wireles

Location-based wireless home automation provides ultimate control over your home with smart technology that makes your home a more comfortable place to live and may help you realize energy savings. When you tie your smartphone into the system, you are able to reap the benefits of geo alarm services. Change the temperature of the house when you leave, or adjust the lighting without lifting a finger. The benefits of geo alarm services make protecting and programming your home almost effortless.

Tip of the week

Some people think that alarms “don’t actually help catch anyone.” What they don’t know is that with a fast response from law enforcement and affordable security cameras, it’s far easier to catch, identify, and prosecute burglars.

Modern motion sensors can be easily calibrated to avoid your lovable family members. You don’t have to choose between having a protected home and your furry friends anymore. Just remember to put them outside when you test your alarms as loud noises can give them quite a scare.
