Within minutes, every carbon monoxide detector on every floor of the house was going off and ADT called me immediately. Thank goodness ADT called me after three of my alarms kept warning me to evacuate and insisted that I do so

One of the firemen the night of the fire said, ‘Do you know how lucky you were tonight?’ But I like to look at it as, we weren’t lucky we were protected (by ADT)

I used to have Brinks as my home security system. SafeStreets is much better but the sublet company they use for the alarms has not been as good. I’m still waiting on my remote for the house, that was in September. That interaction was a little rocky. When I told the installer that I’m supposed to have this and that, he told me I was wrong. This isn’t what I’m paying for and he said I haven’t paid for anything yet. And at that point, I almost want them out of the house. But I allowed the system to be installed anyway. He became much nicer after I gave him the look of, “You’re about two seconds from getting thrown out of my house

Versatility

In addition to security benefits when you are away from home, the best wireless doorbell systems also provide convenience when you are at home. Rely on text message alerts or a connected blinking light to announce visitors when you are at a distance from the doorbell chime or in a noisy environment. Triggered entry lights let you easily view guests and increase their comfort without keeping a light on all the time.

The Appeal of Smart Homes

Smart homes are all about ease of use and ultimate control. In a nutshell, a smart home is any home that has technology that can be remotely controlled and set using your computer, smartphone or tablet device. So, how can you translate this technology into tangible home upgrades?

There are numerous products and options for you to consider—lighting, home security, smart locks, and video surveillance to name a few. Millennials will immediately see value here; their hectic schedules and inherent fluency in technology will make them happy to see any upgrade of this sort.

Additionally, appliances still factor heavily into the minds of potential homebuyers and renters. Many young homeowners won’t even consider a home that has outdated appliances. Thankfully, there are many options on the market—and the appeal to the millennial buyer or renter is priceless.

Shine a light on intruders

When it comes to keeping your rural property safe, lighting came to make a huge difference between keeping your house, equipment, or even livestock safe. When looking for a lighting system for your rural property, look for one that can be accessed from anywhere and is completely customizable.

Once you have a lighting system that fits your needs, you’ll need to consider placement. The main rule to follow in terms of lighting placement is to make sure you place motion-sensitive lights around the perimeter of your property, to spotlight every section. Even better, look for ways to integrate lighting as part of a smart home setup that you can control remotely.
