When we moved to a new house, it was already wired for a home security system. PP&L had a referral program and they referred me to what I thought was ADT, but it was Safe Streets. My interactions with their reps were fine. But, the installer left the old box along with the old battery down in the basement and I’m trying to figure out how to get rid of that. Other than that, he did fine. The service has been good so far.

I heard a loud noise at the back of my house. Glass was shattering from the sliding door on the patio. ADT called me right away and I told them to send help because someone was in my house. It is reassuring to know that ADT and the police officers were there.

Use my ADT all the time, when I go out, when I am home, etc. Have had it for about 30 years, and even though I am retired on a fixed income, I would hesitate to be without it. Would recommend it to a friend or relative in a heartbeat. Thank you for making me feel secure for all these years.

Millennials to Consider Your Property?

It comes as no surprise that upgrading your home to fit the right demographic is paramount to attract the right people. The upgrades that worked well in the past (new flooring, paint, plumbing) might not cut it for the millennial market. So how can you appeal to this ever-growing generation? Consider home automation to sway the new buyer into buying or renting your property.

The current strain for the housing market is that millennial home seekers are seen as a different kind of homebuyer or renter. The opportunity is out there for well-informed property owners to capitalize on the millennial mindset and turn a healthy profit in the process—but how?

When it comes to the housing market, it’s important to fully grasp what your key demographic is looking for. According to one study, four in ten millennials want to live in a smart home. As homebuyers become more and more in touch with technology, the old ways of marketing and upgrading your property may be too antiquated.

There are so many myths about what home security actually is, and it’s changed so much over the years. It isn’t just a bell on a wall anymore; personal home security has evolved so much over the years as technology has made it easier to get connected with our homes.

Collecting all the answers to “What home security really is” can take a lot of time and effort. Lucky for you, we’ve done a little research and have put it all together!

Studies show: a sign doesn’t do everything. In burglaries, homes with security systems had 38% fewer losses than the homes without. Monitored alarms and the response by law enforcement play a big part in protecting your property.

Weekly tip

When you hear ‘home security’ what comes to mind? Security systems designed for the interior of a home? You’re not alone. While a security system can do a lot to keep intruders out, the right outdoor home security cameras and outdoor security lights can do a lot to keep problems from arising in the first place.

Your outdoor lighting should serve two main purposes, security and design. Accent lighting delivers design, but may not provide enough security to thwart trouble. Effective outdoor security lighting can help you monitor and protect the perimeter of your home while adding beauty to your landscaping.
